At 8 years old, I was diagnosed with Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis (later Ankylosing Spondylitis), and for the next 10 years I was in and out of hospitals, always on different medications. These were some of the most trying times in my life. But the next 20 years or so I seemed to stabilize and was able to deal and “adapt” with my condition. About 2 years ago, however, it came back – with a vengeance! Without warning, my left knee blew up like a balloon! My lower back became stiff and painful, my ankles swelled up and I was laid up in bed for a whole month! I would eventually miss three months of work! It was like being a child again.

Once the drug doctors stabilized me, they put me on Indocin, then Plaquenil, but when I started reading about these drugs I realized that they were doing more harm than good! (Since then I have suffered damage to my left eye as a result.) Then in May 2004, I developed a whole new problem: my groin. I had never experienced pain in that area before and it was devastating! I got so desperate for relief I started taking Vioxx. But just when I was at one of the lowest times of my life, God brought me to the NATURAL MEDICINE CENTER. I couldn’t believe how different and “opposite” it was from a drug doctor’s office. I figured the Lord brought me here for a reason so I decided (“reluctantly”) to try it. (I said “reluctantly” because everything was foreign to me: the acupuncture, teas, supplements, diet, etc.)

After 2 weeks, however, I noticed improvement. 2 weeks after that I improved even more. With each treatment the pain subsided, and with a new diet (a miracle that God could change me from a carnivore to a vegetarian) and the drugs out of my system I could literally feel my body getting healthier. 3 months after my initial exam, the pain and discomfort were virtually non-existent. All my internal organs and systems, which had been working overtime (because of a steady diet of Del Taco and Carl’s Jr.) improved dramatically – many in the normal range. It’s been almost 6 months now and the pain is no more. My energy is way up and life is looking brighter and healthier. I also know that this is not a temporary “fix” like drugs are, because the “cause” is being treated not the “symptom”.

I thank God for bringing me here and for equipping and using Dr. Janet and Dr. Kevin in such a mighty way. They have been a huge blessing in my life. They are caring, compassionate people with a wonderful staff who make me feel at home every time I walk through the doors of the NATURAL MEDICINE CENTER.
