From Hair to Toe

What started out to be a simple two hours of hair coloring turned into 120 hours of pain, intense itching of my scalp and major swelling of my face and scalp, beginning May 19, 2010. I had used hair color products for the past 10 years with no ill effects. On this occasion I used a well-respected product purchased from a beauty salon, but within 24 hours had developed intense itching, and a chemical burn on the back of my neck. Within 48 hours my face started to swell. I applied every remedy I could find on the Internet but nothing seemed to work. Finally I went to an area Emergency Room only for them to keep me for 2 hours and discharge me, telling me the swelling would dissipate. Within a couple hours of being discharged, the symptoms had worsened. I remembered a treatment I had received from Dr. Huang the previous year that had cleared up a rash on my leg that would not respond, and I believed he would be able to help with these symptoms as well.

An appointment was booked for that afternoon, and after my first treatment I felt 20% better than I had in the past 48 hours. Dr. Huang was very professional, knowledgeable and upbeat, and I knew I was in good hands. The following day my symptoms worsened yet again and Dr. Huang recommended I go to another ER before continuing treatment. Since I was alone and my eyes were swelling shut, Dr. Huang directed one of his staff to take me to the ER. Once they were able to get the swelling under control, I continued treatments with Dr. Huang consisting of acupuncture, herbs and a change in diet. I was able to return to work on the fifth day after the initial symptoms appeared, with good energy and looking normal again! A very important criteria! Within 21 days the itching completely subsided.

Dr. Huang showed me through his diagnostic procedures how my immune system and many of my internal organs were working at a very low ebb, and that through acupuncture, herbs and diet, these could be restored. Many other symptoms that I had not experienced before began to crop up throughout the following year: muscle and joint pain, headaches, digestive issues, skin rashes, marked decrease in vision, and leg cramps and swelling – from hair to toes! I have maintained the acupuncture treatment schedule, the herbs and the diet as I have received Dr. Huang’s encouragement in learning about what makes for a truly healthy lifestyle. I have actually felt my body gaining an internal strength that I have not had before, as well as gaining relief from these additional symptoms.
